ERA 's Work Helps Genting Win 3.2 Billion Singapore Resort Project

Facing a competitive race for the resort development rights for Singapore’s Sentosa Island, The Genting Group turned to ERA’s entertainment and recreation practice group, led by Ray Braun. Ray’s team evaluated potential market demand and estimated attendance levels for a major Universal Studios theme park, and tested the feasibility of two second-gate attractions: a new maritime museum and a swim-with-the-dolphins oceanarium park. Other components of the resort will include six world-class hotels totaling 1,830 rooms and a major luxury spa.

Project sponsors announced Genting’s winning bid last December. A key factor was their 30-year exclusive deal with Universal Studios in Southeast Asia--the theme park on Sentosa will remain unique in the region.

Other big tourist draws for Resorts World include the Quest Marine Life Park, a premium interactive marine-life experience; FestiveWalk, a retail, dining and entertainment precinct modeled on a similar popular concept found at Universal Studios; and the 1,600-seat Le Vie showroom, with a resident show by the same creative team behind Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas.
